It’s sunset, five friends are sitting on the beach admiring the view.
Their sun hats are askew, their beach blanket damp from the days activities. The ultra feminine shape of the figs could not
be ignored in this piece inspired by the shape and feel of the sensuous fruit. Their plump bottoms anchor the imagery

The artichoke is a complex vegetable with many layers folding in upon itself.
The delicious buttery background color surrounds the artichoke with warmth. The strokes of complimentary colors
indicate the tension between the open and tightly closed leaf counterparts.

The squash were set up to accentuate the color and pattern. But upon finalizing
the composition, we realized that the middle vegetable was indeed “squashed” between its larger counterparts.
The light that filters through the negative space sparkles with clarity and allows the shadow to play an important counterweight
